Mmm, same thing here. Curiously enough, I get the same error. I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 with the standard GNOME desktop, but GNOME's built-in power manager has a bug reporting the percentage of the battery. =P

Mine's also an AMD cpu, ATI graphics card (so I'm also using fglrx) but I'm using kernel 2.6.28-11-generic x86 (not x86-64). Anybody else having the same issue also on an AMD system with an ATI graphics card? I don't think it's an issue in the kernel.
