Comment 10 for bug 1432576

I've just tested in a Jessie i386 virtual machine.
Running 'apt-get install med-bio' listed kissplice as a recommended package, but no attempt was made to install it, and no errors were generated.

It seems it is OK if there are recommended packages that are not available for every architecture.
