The reason the konsole tab is not working in Kile, seems to be that it needs the "old" konsole from KDE3 not KDE4. See http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=200810181502.27638.braun%40physik.fu-berlin.de&forum_name=kile-devel

At the moment Kile in Intrepid depends on konsole (4:4.1.2-0ubuntu4) when konsole (4:3.5.x) is needed. However as far as I can see the KDE3 version of konsole is not shipped with Intrepid right now.
