Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdepim

I have a lot of mail going into "trash" which has been marked as spam. It then changes the subject to "no subject", and the sender and date to "unknown". I noticed that this does not occur when starting up Kontact, but only after Kontact has been up and running and does and automatic check of email.

OK, I just tested this and it takes all of my good mail coming in, marks it as spam, puts it in the trash with "no subject" and "unkown" in the header.

Only way to prevent this is to open up Kontact, let it download all of your mail, read your mail and then close Kontact.

Warning: DO NOT MANUALLY CHECK EMAIL or DO NOT HAVE AUTO CHECKING ON right now, you will lose your email!

I just tested my spam filters by doing it automatically and the spam filters are not the issue. It looks like that after Kontact/KMail is up and running, any new mail that comes in gets stripped of everything before it hits the spam filters. Here is what the message looks like after it gets put into the trash.

Spam detection software, running on the system "ShakaDoobie", has
identified this incoming email as possible spam. The original message
has been attached to this so you can view it (if it isn't spam) or label
similar future email. If you have any questions, see
the administrator of that system for details.

I'd like to confirm that this bug too. Seems that it started happening after today's update.

I too would like to confirm the bug, except my mail does not go to trash or spam, but just sits in the inbox with the unkown and no subject.

With today's update/downgrade to Version 1.2.4 (enterprise 20070825.704286) kontact work as expected. Whether subject nor date and sender will be deleted and the enabled spamfilter (bogofilter) works fine. Manual fetching mails after automatic fetching at program start by pressing the button at the menu works as expected for now.

Thanks for report. This bug should be fixed with latest update of kdepim (3.5.7enterprise20070904-0ubuntu1). Please try new version and feel free to open new bug (or re-open) if you experience any problem with latest version.
