icons: getting new theme does not work

SS -> appearance -> icons -> get new theme
I wait for a while while data are loaded
I choose any theme
-> install
mouse cursor changes shape to "busy"
...
mouse cursor shape is restored
-> close

No change, no new themes in the list.
