The bug you linked to in fact seems to be about using kdesudo or kdesu without dbus-launch, which was specified there as a workaround. In this bug adding dbus-launch makes no difference.
However, the good news is that the other specified workaround there i.e.
kdesudo 'dolphin --nofork' &
Does appear to work in this case, although I haven't tested it extensively.
No doubt it's all related even if it isn't exactly the same issue.
