If I try bug #1443711 i get there is no such bug. Can someone confirm this.

the solution sugggested there is to clear the contents of ~/.cache/ and to check if there is sufficient free space. Just did that, and it seems to have fixed the problem atleast for now - will wait and see if it crashes again.

I suspect it affects folks who have upgraded from older versions and possibly have a corrupted cache as a result - I have also upgraded

I can confirm that removing the ~/.cache fix the problem.
I've upgraded from 14.10 to 15.04

I think my bug is related

In my case using the kubuntu 15.10 PPA backports (plasma 5.5.4 / applications 5.18) fixed it.

The default kubuntu 15.10 packages however crashed.
