Hi Rolf,
 Thanx for taking the time for me. Here are the results of the same.

shirish@Mugglewille:~$ set|grep 1\.10\.2

It doesn't give any error output

shirish@Mugglewille:~$ ls ~/.apt* ~/.dpkg*
ls: cannot access /home/shirish/.dpkg*: No such file or directory
/home/shirish/.aptitude:
config

/home/shirish/.aptoncd:

Seems I'm missing a .dpkg directory or something? I use aptitude quite a bit.
