It indeed happens; seen with a fresh Breezy install. Perhaps some of our
auto-testing infrastructure could check for dangling symlinks after installing a
package -- lifeless, ian?

At any rate, /usr/bin/rmic is a link to /etc/alternatives/rmic, so it's dangling
too, and /var/lib/dpkg/alternatives doesn't hold real executables.
