From the dependencies:

You seem to have installed an unstable version of cairo (development snapshot from git master - unlikely the default on (K(ubuntu) 11.10) - do these interface failures also occur with the current stable cairo version (1.10.2)?

Any other custom packages installed which might interfere with gtk2 and gtk2 theme engines on Kubuntu?
