The reason behind this question: with local tests, I notice much worse performance with >= 0.91 if the 'Text and Font' dialog has been opened at least once in the current session (e.g. because its dialog state was restored from last session). I'd be interested in whether this is a local symptom only or reproduces on other systems too (test editing text with new prefs and just the text tool on-canvas (without opening 'Text and Font')).
