For Linux users who will have difficulties in downgrading to Inkscape 0.48, you can install the Windows version with PlayOnLinux/Wine:
https://inkscape.org/fr/release/inkscape-0.48.5/windows/32-bit/exe/dl/
Files impossible to open with 0.92 work perfectly well with this 0.48.5 build.
