Binary package hint: initramfs-tools

I'm triying to install the Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy live cd, but i recive this message:

/bin/sh:can't access tty; job control turned off
(initramfs)

This cd was tested in other pc, and worked fine.

I've look in forums and manuals, and found some hints, but never worked for me.

this is my hardware:

- Mobo: Desktop Board Intel® DP965LT
- Micro: Intel core2duo E6300 1,86Ghz
- Graphic: nVidia GeForce 7950 GX2
- Hard drive: Maxtor 6v200E0
- Optics:LG: HL-DT-ST-DVDRAM GSA H10N
              LG: HL-DT-ST-DVDROM GDR8164B
- RAM: 2GB DDR2 533 on double channel

There are some hints i found, but not worked for me:

-Starting with "root:live noapic"; same error message.
-Editing start line with F6> changing "splash" for "break=bottom" and then CRTL+D; same error message, if CTRL+D again, says:
mounting /root/sys failed: no such file or directory
mounting /proc on /root/proc failed: no such file or directory
Target filesystem doesn't have /sbin/init
-Triyed the cd live KNOPPIX, DSL and DEBIAN distros; same error message.
-Disabling core dual on bios; same error message.
-Changin boot units order; same error message.

Thanks in advance.!
