try adding "irqpoll" to grub :

e (edit)
go to the ligne "kernel /boot/..."
e (edit)
add "irqpoll"
b (boot)

Not sure if it could work, but cost nothing to try !

If it works, you will have to modify your /boot/grub/menu.lst
