Just two weeks out from my spinal fusion surgery I wasn't quite ready to attempt
a Dapper Flight 1 install yet, but I fired up the live cd and poked around a
bit. I'm now told that my hard disk isn't detected and asked to pick a driver if
I know it. I've tried everything I think could be applicable with no luck -
ahci, ata_piix, libata, all the sata_* options, scsi_mod, sd_mod.
Perhaps the installer works differently. Give me a week or so to heal a bit more
and I'll give it a run. If there's any diagnostics gathering I can do, let me
know and I will as I'm able.
As a side note, and no offense to the Ubuntu/Debian devs, but I'm a bit sad that
Knoppix, Slax, Freesbie (the live FreeBSD thing) all run on this machine, and I
was even able to do a Knoppix > Ubuntu hack-install, but it wouldn't boot
(kernel panic). I'm REALLY looking foraward to getting this to work before the
hardware is outdated. :) I'm confident!
