My mouse is always 90% or 5% (no intermediate values) and it changes ~4-5 times a week; mostly when the laptop suspends. The mouse uses batteries and it's always the one showed in the notifications area. In fact I think the mouse does not even report the remaining time (it's not present in the dialog)
