Happens here with Calc. Working on things as usual in Calc, nothing fancy: changing text and background cell colours, adjusting row heights, cut/copy/paste, saving, search/replace.. after some time the menus stop working.

AMD64, using quantal-proposed, same package versions as listed in the description (libreoffice 1:3.6.2~rc2-0ubuntu4 and indicator-appmenu 12.10.3-0ubuntu2.1), nVidia binary driver
