That is a good point, I changed it to indicator-applet now mostly just in hopes of generating some more steam in getting this fixed.

Hard to say whether it is indicator-applets fault for not finding the icons, or Amarok/KDEs fault for always being so darn incompatible with gnome. it makes me sad either way :_(
