I am sorry that nothing happened with this bug for such a long time. As Ubuntu 11.10 is no longer supported, this bug should probably be closed.
In addition, as Ubuntu will be switching to GNOME from Unity, it is probably not worth forwarding upstream at this stage.
But thanks for taking the time to report it, and if the problem still persists for a newer Ubuntu Release, feel free to put the status back to Confirmed.
