The only PPD for 2605dn is Foomatic/Postscript. Each time I install this printer, I must change the model for 2605 and then chose the recommended Postscript PPD to have correct resolution and color options for this printer (e.g. ProRes 1200, ImageRET 2400).
Since 2605dn is only a 2605 with duplex and network, it should have the same default PPD and the same choices.
Also, a PCL6 PPD (with adequate resolution and color options) is needed for this printer. Maybe as a default, since Postscript is hideously slow sometimes (like bug#1095498). Actually, I have installed a generic PCL6 with Guntenprint and a HP2500 with hpcups. With these, the printer is quick but I only have monochrome output.
Ubuntu 14.04 (actually Linux Mint 17.2)
system-config-printer-gnome 1.4.3+20140219-0ubuntu2.6
system-config-printer-common 1.4.3+20140219-0ubuntu2.6
