Bug Description
The only PPD for 2605dn is Foomatic/
Since 2605dn is only a 2605 with duplex and network, it should have the same default PPD and the same choices.
Also, a PCL6 PPD (with adequate resolution and color options) is needed for this printer. Maybe as a default, since Postscript is hideously slow sometimes (like bug #1095498). Actually, I have installed a generic PCL6 with Guntenprint and a HP2500 with hpcups. With these, the printer is quick but I only have monochrome output.
Ubuntu 14.04 (actually Linux Mint 17.2)

The problem here is that printer- driver- postscript- hp provides 3 identical PPD with the same *NickName: "HP Color LaserJet 2605 Postscript (recommended)" while it should differentiate between 2605/2605dn/ 2605dtn. config- printer only shows one under 2605 and since the Foomatic/Postscript 2605dn is more specific this one is (incorrectly) matched.
In cups webinterface 3 identical PPD entries are shown while system-
