sudo hdparm -B 128 -S 242 /dev/sda
this seems to make my HD happy. no spinning, no nagging, excellent battery life (+5 hours) , ...
But, i have to run the above at every boot.I tried putting that in /etc/rc.locale but no success. I can live with this at least for now, with the hope that someone will figure out what wrong is going on.
