Using Ubuntu 10.04, HP laptop display brightness can be adjusted from Power Management (System > Preferences > Power Management) or using the command line but can not be adjusted with Fn key on Ubuntu 10.04.

/proc/acpi/video/VGA/LCD# echo 50 > brightness
