regarding workaround #39: you're definitely missing an "s" there, the path should read "/usr/sbin/hald" (ok, just saw that in the bug description that is already fixed).
also this workaround doesn't work for me.
can confirm the bug with xubuntu lucid (proposed).
"gksu thunar" actually shows my sd-card. (regarding workaround #30: neither pmount nor usbmount are installed.)
