Yes I am using another distrobution like you'll maybe do in approx 15 days too :-)
it's Ubuntu 8.10 Interpid Ibex :-)

Should I test your advises there too?

PS: I modified the sony-laptop-brightness down|up skripts in ~/etc/acpi/events or something like that - where can I get the originall ones?
