For non-German P35 owners:
1) sudo gedit /etc/acpi/asus-brn-down.sh
2) comment out (#) the line thats starts with "acpi_fakekey"
3) sudo gedit /etc/acpi/asus-brn-up.sh
4) comment out (#) the line thats starts with "acpi_fakekey"

works immediately - no need to restart. The pitfall: the brightness icon does not appear when you change brightness. But at least you can change it!

Alright, now we can go ahead and put some time into the other Gutsy bugs ;-)
