The clean method is not working fail-safe. Once the gnome-session-properties "forget" to disable gnome-power-manager even though the entrance in the starter is set to "false". May be the gnome-session-properties even has a bug?
For so far this is once in the blue moon - so i prefer the clean method as you described and i disclosed in #190. This method makes also Fn+F12 (suspend to ram) available.
