I have tried that with Ubuntu 11.04 (gvfsd-gphoto2 is no longer in the repository nor installed?) and the problem persists.
It turned out that not only previews of image/video files stored in my camera kept loading although size of those files is more than the limit selected in Nautilus but that this problem concerns also local files. I was not able to find any file on my HDD without a preview loaded immediately (when I set the limit to 10MB in Nautilus) , neither image nor video. The only files that stood without preview were TIFFs. Maybe this is a wider problem of Nautilus or the file preview isn't even that hard to obtain?
I will change the pckage affected from gvfs to Nautilus.
Thanks for the response.
