This bug is still present in Ubuntu 11.04 with gvfs version 1.8.0-0ubuntu2.

Could anyone from the team PLEASE take a look at it as this is over a half of year that I have discovered this bug and the state of it hasn't been changed since then?

As a photographer who is also recording HD videos I am working with really big files very often, although my computer maybe isn't a super-quick rocket and it is truly VERY embarrassing when your computer is horribly slowed down for 10-20 minutes just by loading previews of video files (that are in fact WHOLE loaded into memory, otherwise this couldn't ever happen) as big as 3GB or more, and furthermore, from a dictionary that you have ALREADY CLOSED. At first, it fills up all RAM available (2GB) and after that, it eats additional 5GB from the swap! Just for the purpose of a stupid file preview in Nautilus, without copying anything. No, do not say to me that this is normal behaviour or an unimportant bug, please.

Just for the record, the time this bug has been filled, I have also filled another 3 bug reports - with nearly the same result, nobody bothered to take a look at it - that I think are bundled together.

These are the bug #673140 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/673140), #673146 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/673146) and #673151 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/673151).

Many thanks in advance, I would appreciate any work on it and try to help you as much as I can if I have the time.
