Close it, by all means, but the problem still exists it still exists . The ~/.gvfs directory is empty.
 The command:

find sudo find / -name '.*something.*'

still denies access for root to the ~/.gvfs directory.
The permissions on the directory are set to user:user
Have your tried it? Others are reporting the same glitch.
