Sebastien: Perhaps showing the implementation details isn't the best idea, I agree with you. However, until the problem with applications playing nicely with gvfs is fixed, there should be some kind of work around, even if only temporary. I would file another bug report, but opinions from users with legitimate ideas seem to get flamed quite quickly. I'll use jmcantrell's latest response as the example.
