Bug Description
Binary package hint: gthumb
Hi there,
I think gThumb should be built by default with libiptcdata support to allow adding tags ("categories") as metadatas inside images. Rebuilding gThumb with libiptcdata & libiptcdata-dev installed from apt-get did the trick for me. That's on Hardy Heron, AMD64.
Thanks
Joel

I strongly agree with Joel. IPTC is a standard used by many photographers and the gthumbdevelopers has made it supported in gthumb. There is absolutly no reason this is built without IPTC-support in Ubuntu. My guess is that the one responsible for this package perhaps did not think iptc was needed.
