which gtg version is this?
in latest gtg (0.2.4) and the precedent version, there is no mention of couchdb:

/usr/share/gtg/$ grep -Ri couchdb *
/usr/share/gtg/$

Perhaps you installed the branch with the experimental couchdb support?
