Well, ALSA (linux-source-2.6.19/alsa-driver) is partly to blame due to the mixer controls' enumeration, but that's not a problem easily resolved without touching -all- drivers.

Guillaume and Nicolas, please attach your respective ``lspci -nv && cat /proc/asound/card0/codec*''.

(As an aside, pulseaudio should alleviate this somewhat, hopefully...)
