Do you have any tips on finding the original bug in the gstreamer bugzilla. Would it be worth me going IRC on their asses. Just to politely ask where I could find the fix, then maybe apply it myself.

Alternatively would there be a way to get a backported version of gstreamer. I don't want to break the package dependencies stuff. If there's a backport I'd take that.
