Comment 2 for bug 654651

I am still poking around, I posted this in hopes of some direction on where to look, so thank you.

/var/log/dist-upgrade/term.log:
Installing new version of config file /etc/grub.d/05_debian_theme ...
Removing update-grub hooks from /etc/kernel-img.conf in favour of
/etc/kernel/ hooks.
dpkg: error processing grub-pc (--configure):
 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 30

I've begun to think it was an issue with having startupmanager installed. It has grub as a dependency.
