Used force quit to kill process, trying second time resulted in same situation.

Grub-PC package upgrade failed to install/froze on new installation of Ubuntu on a dual boot windows pc. Now, Ubuntu will not let me install any ubuntu compatible programs such as Audacity unless I fix the frozen grub-pc install. Pls advise asap.

This may have been related to the screensaver kicking in. And it may have just been a coincidence.

lol..... I'm a fedora guy.... Love it for the stability. Needed Windows for something so Made a clean install. And Booted Ubuntu only becos i didnt find the fedora DVD . Crappy Ubuntu :p

Maybe you need your head only to have something to put on your headphones ?

Discussions like "my distro is better than yours" are really boring :)

I think the maintainers of fedora and ubuntu (and other distros!) have done a great Job. Thanks to them!

Yes, I agree having a head does help.. Otherwise where would you put the
headphones.... right??

The maintainers of all the distros have done a fine job.. specially since they
do not get paid....

I like Ubuntu but in Ubuntu 10.04 they upgraded to Gurb2.... this is the
crappy part.

Though, I must admit, I have never tried Fedora other than a fedora hat...

Back to the bug - its the same on version 1.99~rc1-8ubuntu1

Stopped at /etc/grub.d/30_os-prober script. It loaded Linux partitions. I was just waiting for it to detect my mac partition.
