I insalled Lucid (Can't find the exact version, but all files on the CD's root are dated 2010-03-02) and I had a problem similar to the one discused here. I also have winXP SP2 installed.

It is not booting any more and I would like to see if there is a way to fix it. Here is what happened:

1.Installed ubuntu and was able to double boot for a good 4 months in which I didn't even mount an NTFS partition.
3. Mounted NTFS partition (the one where windows files are) and made some changes on a text file (a LaTeX document I was working on, no system file or anything)
3. Next time I tried booting into windows, the "loading windows" splash screen appeared for like one second then rebooted back to grub.
4. If I now try to boot windows, it takes me to the windows menu where you choose Safe Mode, etc. No matter what option I pick, it reboots back to grub, this time booting straight into ubuntu (the normal wait period in grub is skipped)

Ubuntu boots just fine.
I can mount the NTFS partition on ubuntu and everything seems just fine.
I just can't boot into windows any more.

Any luck you have any idea on how to be able to boot my windows again? (apart from the obvious reinstall windows then fix grub method)

Thanks
