Same here. My desktop system with 2 sata hard drives just rendered itself unbootable after upgrading Kubuntu 10.10 -> 11.04

As far as I can tell, "Fix Released" is not a proper characterization for this bug's status, and this is a CRITICAL bug. I really don't mean to flame, but we can't afford having people click on the "A new distribution version is available" button, only to get a black screen after booting, not to mention losing access to poprietary operating systems already installed
