Run sudo dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc and select with space and arrow keys
the right device where it should get installed to. I.e. the disk your
BIOS boots from.
Or just choose all if you don't mind to overwrite all MBRs with GRUB 2.

Strange though that it says that a space is the symbol it couldn't find.
