Comment 13 for bug 476625

This may be fixed permanently for 10.10 Maverick. I've now got hivex ready for Debian which should make its way automatically into the Ubuntu archives. *If* that happens os-prober can use my probe_bcd script to correctly identify the Windows partitions.

For 10.04 Lucid I'm not sure how it could be solved, short of backporting hivex into the main archive. Hopefully one of the core developers and installer experts will take a look at this now the pressure from Lucid is off.
