I confirm grobbelaar' results - the issue is not fixed:

$ dot -Tpng
Format: "png" not recognized. Use one of:

$ dot -V
dot - graphviz version 2.36.0 (20140111.2315)

$ dpkg --status graphviz
Package: graphviz
Status: install ok installed
Priority: optional
Section: graphics
Installed-Size: 1785
