Bug Description
I recently enabled the option in the gnome-tweak-tool called "Show location of cursor" so now when I press CTRL I get a nice animation coming from my cursor. However if I have any text selected when I press CTRL, until I have released the button, the text appears as normal and appears to be deselected though I believe it is not, if it is, then it just reselect when I release the button.
And this becomes rather distracting when trying to copy text as it disappears when you press CTRL... And it's not just for text, it seems to do the same for anything that is selected, such as a text box or something.

This maybe a theme issue, I can't reproduce this in xenial with the default Adwaita theme
