Thanks for looking into this for me. It seems to have fixed itself after
I made following entries to have control copy and paste work in
terminal.
# gconftool-2 -t str -s /apps/gnome- terminal/ keybindings/ copy terminal/ keybindings/ paste
"<Control>c"
# gconftool-2 -t str -s /apps/gnome-
"<Control>v"
