Well, it finally appeared to be a configuration process. My router forces "restricted" mode to work flawlessy with my card. I then succeeded with iwconfig commands.

This bug turns into a "feature enhancement" proposition
_ Moving/Reporting this bug to gnome network config package to add "open" and "restricted" mode configuration in the GUI.
