An ugly work-around:
1) Run dconf-editor.
2) Search for gnome-sudoku
3) Make sure that "generate-endlessly" flag, and the "generate-target-<difficulty>" flags corresponding to the level of the sudokus you want to print are set.
4) Close dconf-editor
5) Start gnome-sudoku. Leave it running a few minutes, to allow it to generate enough new puzzles.
6) Print the sudokus.

The problem had already been filed upstream (bug 580055, https:/ /bugzilla. gnome.org/ show_bug. cgi?id= 580055 ). It is caused by the program not handling correctly not having enough sudokus to print.
