gnome-software cant find libgs_plugin_xdg_app_reviews.so

When running Gnome Software via the terminal, I get the following error message:

    (gnome-software:6632): Gs-WARNING **: failed to open plugin /usr/lib/gs-plugins-9/libgs_plugin_xdg_app_reviews.so: /usr/lib/gs-plugins-9/libgs_plugin_xdg_app_reviews.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Gnome Software opens fine, when loading the page for any software, it just get stuck in the loading part, and does not display anything!

I just also installed the packagekit, put the same error persist!

Getting the same error message but the Gnome Software doesn't even start but fails silently. Found the error in log and when trying to start it from Terminal.

Hello.
Recently installed XUBUNTU (last version i think, 16.04 ?)
At the first start, Gnome-software was ok. Asked it to dowload several softs. I had troubles on the internet connexion.
A stopped the computer and since the gnome-software don't launch on graphic version, neither via terminal.
I have the same message

When i go to look at this file, the file manager indicates "broken link" on this file.
any solution ?

i found one kind of solution :
1) DL the archive according to your version https://www.rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=gnome-software
2) as an adm remove the original gs-plugins-9
3) extract the recently downloaded gs-plugins-9 file
4) as adm move it to the right place (usr/lib/)

for me it worked.

Same for me: Ubuntu Gnome 16.04 / Gnome 3.18

At the beginning it worked for me, but after installing the usual software (Skype, Atom etc..) it stopped opening for me.

I was able to open and use the Software app just fine until I restarted while it was open and "pending" a download of a package (wifi wasn't connecting). Since that restart it will not open and I get this error in the logs:

I get the same as above. The softlink file is missing libgs_plugin_xdg_app_reviews.so -> libgs_plugin_xdg_app_reviews.so.0.0.0
