Comment 4 for bug 1834058

Uninstalling all Gnome extensions doesn't make any difference. Before January 2019 everything worked as expected - with or without extensions. The above described bug came up at around Jan 10 2019, and was never fixed. The fix of bug 1812266 didn't change anything to the better.
