Michael Grivas (mgrivas), could you please elaborate on how you solved your problem? I am facing the same issue.

I tried changing the following entris with dconf:

/org/gnome/mines/use-animations
/org/gnome/desktop/interface/enable-animations
/org/gnome/shell/extensions/dash-to-dock/animation-time
/org/gnome/shell/extensions/dash-to-dock/animate-show-apps

Fiddling with the above entries did not solve the issue.
