1) Regarding the crash files, it is best if one reports the crash files as documented at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs (not attach them).

2) Regarding the crash files, could you please advise to their file name(s)?

3) Regarding upgrading, if you do so and the problem is fixed, then that is the best outcome, and doesn't cause anything negative to happen.
